Cryptography

Symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hashing and PKI.

10 units~45 minAdvanced levelFocused — 8 core topics

About this module

Cryptography is the math that keeps data secret, proves it was not changed, and proves who sent it. This is the final module of the course. You will learn the two encryption families, hashing, cipher modes, PKI and certificates, disk encryption, how attackers try to break crypto, and where the field is heading (quantum, blockchain, AI). The big lesson: most breaches come from weak settings, not from broken math.

What you will learn

  • Cryptography basics & key access
  • Encryption algorithms (symmetric vs asymmetric)
  • Hash functions & integrity
  • Cipher modes & authenticated encryption
  • PKI, certificates & secure email
  • Disk encryption & crypto tools
  • Cryptanalysis, attacks & key stretching
  • Future crypto: quantum, lightweight, blockchain & AI
